We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS DevOps / Platform Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate production cloud environments. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, GitOps, observability, and DevSecOps.

You will work closely with development, architecture, QA, and security teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and auditable infrastructure for Java, Python, and Node.js applications. You will take ownership of production reliability, deployment automation, security controls, backup, and disaster recovery.

Key ResponsibilitiesAWS Architecture and Production Operations

- Design and operate secure, scalable, highly available production environments on AWS.
- Establish and manage multi-account AWS environments with appropriate account separation, access controls, governance, and billing visibility.
- Design and maintain VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, private connectivity, load balancing, and DNS.
- Provision and operate Amazon EKS, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, Amazon MSK / Apache Kafka, and Amazon OpenSearch Service.
- Implement and maintain IAM policies, least-privilege access, KMS encryption, secrets management, and CloudWatch monitoring.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, application connectivity, performance, and availability issues.
- Optimize resource utilization and cloud costs while maintaining reliability and security.

Kubernetes and Helm

- Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot production Kubernetes workloads on Amazon EKS.
- Develop and maintain Helm charts and environment-specific deployment configurations.
- Implement resource requests and limits, health probes, autoscaling, ingress, RBAC, and workload isolation.
- Plan and execute cluster upgrades, application rollouts, and rollback procedures.
- Diagnose pod failures, scheduling issues, service connectivity problems, and capacity constraints.

Infrastructure as Code

- Build reusable Terraform modules for consistent infrastructure provisioning across environments.
- Manage Terraform state, versioning, change reviews, and controlled deployment workflows.
- Detect and resolve infrastructure drift and reduce manual configuration.
- Maintain clear documentation for infrastructure architecture, dependencies, and operational procedures.





CI/CD and GitOps

- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Java, Python, and Node.js applications.
- Automate builds, tests, container image creation, security checks, artifact publishing, and deployments.
- Implement GitOps workflows using tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
- Establish reliable promotion processes across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Implement deployment approvals, release traceability, rollback mechanisms, and secure pipeline access.

Observability and Reliability

- Implement monitoring, dashboards, alerting, and distributed tracing using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and AWS monitoring services.
- Define meaningful service health indicators and actionable alerts.
- Correlate metrics, logs, and traces to investigate production issues.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Develop operational runbooks and automate recurring maintenance and recovery tasks.

DevSecOps and Audit Readiness

- Embed security controls into infrastructure provisioning and software delivery workflows.
- Implement vulnerability scanning, container image scanning, dependency checks, secrets detection, and configuration validation.
- Strengthen access management, encryption, network security, patching, and audit logging.
- Support CERT-In audit readiness by maintaining relevant configurations, operational records, evidence, and remediation tracking.
- Coordinate with security teams and auditors to address findings and demonstrate implemented controls.

Backup and Disaster Recovery

- Design and maintain backup, retention, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Define and validate recovery objectives in collaboration with application and business stakeholders.
- Conduct restoration tests and disaster recovery exercises, documenting outcomes and corrective actions.




- Ensure recovery procedures cover databases, infrastructure configurations, and critical application dependencies.

Required Skills and Experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering, including substantial hands-on ownership of AWS production environments.
- Strong practical experience with:
- AWS multi-account setups, VPC, EKS, RDS PostgreSQL, MSK / Kafka, OpenSearch, IAM, KMS, and CloudWatch.
- Kubernetes administration, troubleshooting, and Helm.
- Terraform and reusable Infrastructure as Code practices.
- CI/CD and GitOps workflows for Java, Python, and Node.js builds and deployments.
- Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- DevSecOps, infrastructure security, vulnerability remediation, and audit evidence preparation.
- Backup, restoration, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Strong Linux administration, networking, Docker, and container troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in Bash and/or Python for infrastructure automation.
- Experience with Git-based collaboration, code reviews, and controlled production changes.
- Ability to independently investigate complex incidents and drive issues through to resolution.
- Solid documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, service control policies, and centralized security logging.
- Experience with Argo CD, Flux, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar delivery platforms.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL performance troubleshooting, Kafka operations, and OpenSearch capacity management.
- Experience defining and tracking service-level indicators and objectives.
- Prior participation in CERT-In audits or other information security assessments.
- Relevant AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications.

What We’re Looking ForA hands-on engineer who can take ownership from infrastructure design through production operations, make sound decisions during incidents, and build repeatable processes that improve reliability, security, and delivery speed. Candidates must be available to work onsite in Trivandrum. Immediate availability is strongly preferred.
