Finance Operations Accountant – Bookkeeping, Payroll & Treasury – Lucey Group

Location: Chennai, initially remote

Employment: Full-time, dedicated position

Reporting to: Group Financial Controller

About the role

This is a hands-on position responsible for keeping the group’s daily financial records accurate, reconciled and current. You will manage transaction processing, payroll inputs, collections and payment preparation across several businesses.

Your responsibilities

- Maintain purchase and sales ledgers, expense records and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile bank accounts, cards, Stripe and other payment processors.
- Reconcile customer receipts, deposits, refunds, fees and supplier or marketplace payouts.
- Maintain debtor and creditor ageing reports, pursue overdue balances and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare supplier payment runs and maintain cash and currency schedules.
- Prepare UK and Irish payroll inputs and reconciliations; operate payroll where trained and authorised.
- Coordinate with HR on starters, leavers, benefits, expenses and payroll changes.




- Coordinate with the existing Polish payroll provider and support future Indian payroll implementation.
- Support intercompany reconciliations and month-end close.
- Maintain clear records of approvals, payments and unresolved items.

Essential requirements

- Fully qualified ICAI Chartered Accountant, ACCA member, ACA or recognised CPA, with verifiable membership.
- Strong practical bookkeeping, bank reconciliation and accounts payable/receivable experience.
- Direct UK or Irish payroll processing experience; state the countries and software used.
- Experience with multiple entities and currencies.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence investigating unexplained differences.
- Practical experience with Xero or comparable software.

Payment-processor or marketplace accounting experience is particularly desirable.
