JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for an experienced Manager – Electrical Design & Estimation to lead our electrical design and estimation function. The candidate will be responsible for managing engineering designs, project estimation, costing and technical proposals while ensuring accuracy, quality, timely delivery and project profitability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Electrical Design & Engineering
- Lead electrical design activities for industrial automation and electrical projects.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, control schematics and panel layouts.
- Review load calculations, cable sizing, breaker selection and protection schemes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IEC, IS and industry standards.
- Review and approve technical drawings and engineering documents.
- Estimation & Costing
- Manage estimation and costing for electrical panels, automation systems and turnkey projects.




- Prepare and review BOQ, BOM and detailed cost sheets.
- Estimate material, labour, engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning costs.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for pricing and negotiations.
- Evaluate alternative components and specifications to optimize project costs.
- Ensure competitive quotations while maintaining project profitability.
- Team Management
- Lead, guide and develop the electrical design and estimation team.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance and productivity.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide engineering guidance.
- Establish standard templates, checklists and estimation procedures.
- Support team training and continuous improvement.
- Sales & Customer Coordination
- Coordinate with the sales team to understand customer requirements.
- Participate in customer technical discussions and meetings.
- Handle technical clarifications, tendering and negotiations.
- Prepare competitive technical and commercial proposals.
- Support enquiry-to-order conversion.
- Ensure timely submission of quotations and technical offers.
- Project & Internal Coordination
- Coordinate with purchase, projects, production and service teams.
- Ensure smooth handover of confirmed orders to execution teams.
- Review technical specifications, deviations and exclusions.




- Evaluate design changes and their cost implications.
- Resolve technical and commercial issues.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering and industrial automation.
- Experience in electrical panel design and engineering.
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI, Servo and VFD systems.
- Ability to read and review SLDs, wiring diagrams and control schematics.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN.
- Experience in BOQ, BOM, estimation and project costing.
- Knowledge of MCC, PCC, switchgear and control panels.
- Understanding of component selection, sizing and industrial automation architecture.
- Familiarity with industrial networking and IEC/IS standards.
