Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct regular ward rounds and interact with patients to assess dietary requirements.

2. Monitor food services to ensure meals provided align with prescribed dietary plans.

3. Prescribe therapeutic and non-therapeutic diets using sound principles of nutrition and diet therapy.

4. Ensure all diet plans respect patient-specific socio-cultural constraints and preferences.

5. Plan and provide special diets for patients with unique nutritional needs (e.g. renal, diabetic, post-surgery).

6. Offer diet consultations for:

- Inpatients during discharge

- Outpatients

- Preventive health check-up patients when necessary

- Prepare written nutrition education materials for patients and staff.

- Stay updated on latest nutrition research, dietary guidelines, and service delivery models.

- Conduct nutrition health education programs for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

- Provide nutritional input during patient care planning and interdisciplinary case discussions.
