BU Consultants is hiring for global investment and technology development firm with offices across North America, Europe, and Asia. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager – Windows Systems Engineering to lead a team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise Windows infrastructure.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Windows technologies, infrastructure engineering, system reliability, and technical team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers in designing, implementing and maintaining reliable, scalable and high-performance Windows infrastructure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical projects.
- Define technology roadmaps, project priorities and delivery timelines.
- Own end-to-end project execution and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Improve system configurability, observability, supportability, security and reliability.
- Upgrade and redesign existing infrastructure to improve performance and stability.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolve complex production issues.
- Hire, mentor and develop engineers while promoting technical ownership and collaboration.
- Coordinate with cross-functional engineering and business teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience working on and managing Windows technologies.
- Robust understanding of Windows fundamentals.
- Extensive experience with multiple technologies from the following:
- Active Directory
- ADFS
- Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Exchange / Exchange Online
- SCCM
- SCOM
- Hyper-V / Storage Spaces Direct (S2D)
- VMware
- Kubernetes
- Failover Clustering
- SQL Server
- Experience designing and implementing performant, reliable and secure systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and familiarity with diagnostic tools such as ETW, Procmon, WinDbg and Wireshark.
- Exposure to PowerShell, Git and continuous integration systems.
Preferred Skills
- 3+ years of technical leadership or technology team management experience.
- Experience handling escalations from Helpdesk, NOC and business teams.
- Production infrastructure support and proactive issue resolution experience.
- Exposure to financial services or finance industry environments.
- Programming experience in C# and/or Python.
