Role Description The CNC / VMC Programmer role at HINDUSTAN BRASS INDUSTRIES is a full-time, on-site position based in Jamnagar. The programmer will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC and VMC programs for precision brass components, ensuring efficient machine setup, tooling selection, and production processes. Daily tasks include interpreting engineering drawings, determining machining parameters, conducting trial runs, and monitoring production to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.

The role involves troubleshooting machining issues, coordinating with operators and supervisors, and implementing process improvements to reduce cycle time and minimize defects. The programmer is also expected to follow safety standards, maintain documentation,



and contribute to ongoing modernization initiatives within the machine shop.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in CNC and VMC programming, including G-code, M-code, and use of relevant CAM software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications for precision turned components.
- Hands-on experience with machine setup, tooling selection, offsets, and process optimization on up-to-date CNC machines.
- Knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and quality inspection methods for dimensional accuracy.
- Understanding of machining processes for brass and other metals, including cutting parameters, feeds, and speeds.
- Problem-solving skills for diagnosing machining issues, equipment errors, and program-related defects.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation, program backup, and data entry; familiarity with ERP or production tracking systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively on the shop floor, communicate clearly with operators and supervisors, and follow safety and operational guidelines.
- Vocational or diploma-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field; relevant industry certifications are a plus.
- Prior experience in a precision components or brass fittings manufacturing environment is highly beneficial.
