What role will you play?

In our Summer Internship Program, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience which could set you up for a successful career once you complete your studies. During your 8-10-week internship, you will work alongside leading industry professionals and receive a structured induction, on-the-job training, and networking opportunities.

As part of our Risk Management Group (RMG) and Internal Audit Department (IAD), you will deliver successful and sustainable business outcomes by reviewing, challenging, overseeing, monitoring and reporting on Macquarie’s material risks.

We Have Opportunities In

Credit Reviews

Support global credit teams by conducting counterparty analysis and contributing to credit risk assessments, internal credit ratings and the establishment of appropriate limits. The team provides independent oversight and challenge to help Macquarie make informed credit decisions.

Credit Central

Support the central functions that enable Macquarie’s credit risk management activities. This includes credit systems, reporting, controls, risk modelling, data governance and country risk, helping ensure that credit risk is managed consistently and effectively across the organisation.

Internal Audit Department (IAD)

Contribute to independent and objective assessments of Macquarie’s risk management, governance and control workplace.



As Macquarie’s third line of defence, IAD provides assurance and insights that help strengthen the effectiveness of controls across the organisation.

Compliance

Support Macquarie in managing compliance and financial crime risk. Opportunities may include developing and maintaining compliance frameworks, supporting risk surveillance, and using analytics, insights and models to identify, monitor and respond to potential areas of non-compliance.

Market Risk

Help assess, monitor and report Macquarie’s exposure to adverse movements in market rates and volatility. The team supports the oversight of market risk arising from both traded and non-traded activities and helps ensure that risks remain within approved limits.

Model & AI Risk Management

Support the independent oversight of model and artificial intelligence risk, alongside prudential and aggregate risk. The team assesses how models and AI are developed, used and governed, helping Macquarie manage emerging risks, make informed decisions and operate within its current and future risk appetite.

What you offer

- Commerce, economics, maths and technology students in their penultimate or final year of study.
