The Art-X Company is hiring for their client 1838 by Times of India an Events Curator. The idea candidate will lead the curation, development and execution of 1838's 365-day cultural programming calendar. The role involves developing distinctive event formats, building a strong creative network, and producing high-quality cultural experiences across the platform's six event spaces. Working closely with the Creative Head, the Events Curator will translate the platform's curatorial vision into a consistent programme of performances, exhibitions, talks, salons, forums, brand showcases and community experiences.

The role will also contribute to the curatorial development of selected external exhibitions.

This is a senior, hands-on role requiring both curatorial judgement and production expertise, with the mandate to build the programming engine from the ground up.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Arts, Cultural Studies, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Event Management, Arts Management or a related discipline.

- Strong understanding of India's contemporary cultural and creative ecosystem.

- Knowledge of multidisciplinary programming across arts, design, music, performance, literature, film and related fields.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Experience:

- 12–16 years of experience in cultural programming, festival direction, arts management, curatorial practice, live events or experiential programming.

- Demonstrated experience conceptualising and delivering large-scale or year-round cultural programmes.

- Proven ability to develop original event formats and recurring programming properties.

- Established network of artists, designers, performers, writers, filmmakers, cultural producers and creative entrepreneurs.

- Hands-on experience managing talent, production teams, vendors, event logistics and live execution.

- Experience working with heritage venues, cultural institutions, festivals or multidisciplinary event spaces will be an advantage.

- Exposure to luxury, design or brand-led exhibitions and cultural partnerships will be an added advantage.
