The Art-X Company is hiring for their client 1838 by Time of India an Art Gallery and Event Programming for their new vertical Art of India. We are looking for someone to run the Art of India gallery and program its year. Early next year Art of India gets a permanent home on the heritage ground floor of The Times of India building in Mumbai. You turn three event-weeks into fifty-two selling weeks by filling the calendar, running the floor, and making every show open on time and close clean.

The measure of success is simple: within a year, the gallery is a permanent stop on Mumbai's art circuit.

Art of India is where it begins. It is a profitable curated art business inside The Times of India Group, five editions old, with hundreds of collectors who already own work bought through it. They are now turning it into a year-round business, with a Head in place and a permanent gallery opening in The Times of India building in Mumbai.

Requirements





Essential Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Arts Management, Fine Arts, Art History, Museology, Event Management or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of gallery operations, exhibition practices and the Indian art ecosystem.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Essential Experience:

- 4–8 years of experience in gallery or museum operations, cultural venues, art fairs, festivals or cultural event management. A strong professional profile and relevant industry exposure will be prioritised over years of experience alone.
- Experience managing exhibition calendars and coordinating multiple shows or cultural programmes.
- Hands-on experience in exhibition installation, de-installation, artwork handling and logistics.
- Experience coordinating vendors, production teams, security, lighting and audiovisual requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, venue operations and event execution.
- Experience working with artists, galleries, curators, collectors and other cultural stakeholders will be preferred.
