Job Role

Responsible for fitting, installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of marine mechanical equipment and systems onboard vessels and within the shipyard.

Key Responsibilities
Install, dismantle, assemble, and repair marine mechanical equipment and components.
Carry out fitting, alignment, and installation of engines, pumps, compressors, valves, and gearboxes.
Read and understand engineering drawings, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs.
Assist in testing, commissioning, and maintenance of onboard mechanical systems.
Use fitting tools, machinery, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.
Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other production teams to complete assigned work.
Follow safety procedures, use required PPE,



and maintain proper housekeeping.

Essential Requirements
ITI in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent technical qualification.
Knowledge of mechanical fitting, assembly, and maintenance.
Ability to understand technical drawings and measurements.
Familiarity with mechanical tools and workplace safety practices.

Desirable Requirements
3–5 years of experience in marine, shipyard, or heavy industrial work.
Experience with marine engines, pumps, gearboxes, and auxiliary machinery.
Knowledge of onboard vessel installation and maintenance.
