Role Description The Steward role at The Pump House is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The Steward is responsible for supporting day-to-day restaurant operations, including clearing and setting tables, assisting in food and beverage service, and maintaining cleanliness in service and dining areas. The role includes ensuring that cutlery, crockery, glassware, and equipment are cleaned, stored, and ready for use, while following hygiene and safety standards. The Steward will assist senior staff during busy service periods, respond to guest requests promptly and courteously,



and coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth workflow. This position requires flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as part of a collaborative front-of-house team.
Qualifications
Solid Customer Service and Communication skills to interact with guests and coordinate with team members.
Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations and basic Food Service practices in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Ability to learn and follow Training guidelines related to hygiene, safety, and service standards.
Attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail in dining and service areas.
Previous experience in a restaurant, bar, café, or hotel service role is an advantage but not mandatory.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry service items, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable, punctual, and willing to work adaptable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Basic spoken English and local language skills to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
