Education: B.Com, Qualified accountant (CA / CPA / MBA-Finance)

Work Experience: 7+ years of experience in insurance accounting

Responsibilities:
Lead deep-dive balance sheet analytics, identify underlying drivers of movements, and proactively resolve complex reconciling items and structural issues
Prepare and review complex insurance accounting schedules, including Deferred Acquisition Costs (DAC), IBNR reserves, loss reserve strengthening analyses, premium deficiency assessment, & related accruals
Lead statutory and GAAP close activities, including preparation of supporting schedules, fluctuation analysis, and resolution of complex accounting issues.
Partner with Finance, Actuarial, Claims, Underwriting, and FP&A; teams to evaluate accounting implications of reserve movements, premium transactions, reinsurance arrangements, and business changes.
Participate in ledger cleanup, chart of accounts conversion, data migration, and testing activities.
Establish accounting processes, prepare accounting setups, & assist with transitioning products into BAU.
Assess and validate accounting impact of claims system migrations, policy admin platforms, and system enhancements through rigorous testing, reconciliations, and scenario analysis.




Interface with upstream data providers and third-party administrators to obtain, validate, and interpret source data, ensuring completeness and accuracy of accounting outcomes.
Apply and interpret US GAAP and NAIC Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and consistency across financial statements and disclosures.

Technical Skills:
Solid knowledge of US Insurance Accounting, including US GAAP, NAIC Statutory Reporting, DAC, loss reserves/IBNR, accruals, and period-end close processes.
Experience with Journal Entry processing, General Ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, BlackLine, Workday, or similar accounting platforms.
