1. Job Purpose
Job Summary

The Quality Engineer will oversee all quality assurance and quality control activities across solar PV power plant projects. The role ensures that civil, mechanical, and electrical installations strictly comply with approved engineering drawings, technical specifications, MNRE/BIS guidelines, and international standards (IEC/ISO) from construction through commissioning and handover. Key Responsibilities

Quality Planning & Documentation:

Implement and monitor Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements.
Maintain site quality records, including Work Inspection Requests (WIR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), daily/weekly quality reports, and final handover dossiers. [1]
Incoming Material & Vendor Inspection:

Inspect incoming solar PV modules, inverters, mounting structures (MMS), HT/LT cables, transformers, and earthing materials.




Coordinate Pre-Dispatch Inspections (PDI), Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and third-party inspections (TPI). [1]
Site Execution & Field Quality Control:

Supervise civil works (piling, foundations, RCC, trenching, and module mounting structure alignment).
Monitor mechanical and electrical installations (module fixing, torque checks, DC/AC cabling, string monitoring, inverter installations, HT/LT switchyard, and earthing/lightning protection). [1]
Non-Conformance & Corrective Action (NCR/CAPA):

Identify site non-conformities (NCRs) and execution defects.
Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ensure timely implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). [1]
Testing & Commissioning Support:

Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning tests (IV curve tracing, insulation resistance/IR testing, earthing continuity, loop resistance, and performance ratio validation).
Coordinate joint inspections with clients, consultants, and DISCOM/statutory authorities. [1]

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
Experience: 1- 3 years of hands-on QA/QC experience specifically in utility-scale or ground-mounted solar EPC projects.
Technical Knowledge:

Deep familiarity with solar standards (MNRE, BIS, IEC, and ISO 9001:2015).
Practical understanding of civil tolerances, MMS alignment, electrical testing, and cable termination quality.
Proficiency in reading single-line diagrams (SLD), civil layout drawings, and ITPs.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, documentation, and vendor/subcontractor coordination skills.
