Sr Product Mgr I
Job Summary
Are you keen to develop your Product Management career
Would you enjoy working on our cutting-edge products
About the Team
Mercury is RX s global registration and eCommerce platform, supporting the journeys that bring visitors and exhibitors to our events. It covers registration, purchasing, badging, and onsite access, connecting customer experiences with the data and business systems behind them. Our Product, Engineering, Design, Analytics, Product Success, and regional business teams work together to deliver reliable services, better customer experiences, and measurable business value.
About the Role
We re looking for a Senior Product Manager with strong communication, influencing, and product judgment skills who can build effective relationships across a complex, international business. You ll help shape our registration and eCommerce capabilities by turning customer insights and business needs into prioritized opportunities and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful outcomes.
Initially, you ll have a significant role in go-to-market activity and business-unit engagement, working with regional teams to understand needs, assess readiness, remove adoption barriers, and support successful rollouts. As our operating model evolves, Product Success will take on more ongoing rollout coordination and day-to-day business engagement. You ll help enable that transition, creating more capacity for product discovery, roadmap development, prioritization, and continuous improvement while remaining closely connected to customers and stakeholders and retaining responsibility for product decisions within your remit. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding how products work in practice and using that insight to decide what should change and why.
Responsibilities (What you ll do)
Discover opportunities and shape product direction
- Build a deep understanding of visitor, exhibitor, and event-team needs through research, stakeholder conversations, product data, and live-event observation.
- Look beyond feature requests to uncover underlying problems, test assumptions, and distinguish local needs from opportunities with broader value.
- Assess opportunities across registration, eCommerce, and related journeys, including improvements that support revenue growth, customer experience, data quality, and operational efficiency.
- Develop evidence-based recommendations and proportionate business cases that clearly explain benefits, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs.
- Own and maintain a prioritized opportunity backlog for your area and contribute to the broader product strategy and roadmap.
Turn priorities into measurable improvements
- Partner with Design, Engineering, Product Owners,
and Business Analysts to translate validated opportunities into clear outcomes, scope, and requirements.
- Balance customer value and business priorities with technical feasibility, operational readiness, and the needs of a shared global platform.
- Work with adjacent product and business-system teams to manage dependencies across end-to-end journeys.
- Partner with Product Analytics to define success measures, establish baselines, and evaluate releases and experiments.
- Use launch results, customer feedback, and product performance to refine priorities and continuously improve the product.
Partner with business units on rollout and adoption
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across registration, marketing, commercial, and event teams.
- Initially lead agreed product-engagement forums to clarify priorities, communicate roadmap decisions, and maintain visibility of adoption barriers and dependencies.
- Assess how well existing capabilities meet event requirements and determine whether process changes, configuration, or product development is the right response.
- Work with Product Success and delivery teams on launch readiness, pilots, and adoption plans, helping teams understand available capabilities and required business changes.
- Provide product input on significant issues through established support and escalation processes, ensuring recurring problems drive product improvements rather than repeated workarounds.
- Communicate decisions, constraints, and next steps clearly without committing ahead of discovery or delivery agreement.
Help build a scalable Product-Product Success partnership
- Establish clear responsibilities, decision-making boundaries, and feedback loops across Product, Product Success, and business units.
- Support the phased transfer of agreed go-to-market and stakeholder-coordination activities through shared documentation, knowledge transfer, and joint working.
- Maintain continuity for business units as responsibilities evolve, pacing handovers to agreed readiness and capacity.
- Equip Product Success colleagues with transparent product context, value propositions, and guidance, while using their adoption insights to inform discovery.
- Retain ownership of product priorities and outcomes within your remit as more day-to-day engagement and coordination moves to Product Success.
Requirements (What you ll bring)
- Experience managing digital products or a clearly defined product area, from problem discovery and opportunity prioritization through delivery and evaluation.
- Evidence of improvements that delivered customer or business outcomes, rather than simply completed features or project milestones.
- Strong discovery and analytical skills, including the ability to combine qualitative and quantitative evidence and recognize data limitations.
- Sound prioritization and commercial judgment, with the confidence to challenge assumptions, explain trade-offs, and constructively say not yet.
- Experience working closely with Engineering and Design teams in an agile product-development environment.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills, including influencing across functions and balancing regional needs with global product goals.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences, plus a practical understanding of rollout, adoption, and business change.
- The ability to learn complex workflows and integrations, navigate ambiguity, and stay focused on the highest-value problems.
Useful, but not essential
- Experience with registration, ticketing, eCommerce, payments, or other transaction-based digital products.
- Experience with global platforms serving multiple markets, business units, or customer groups.
- Familiarity with products connected to finance, CRM, identity, marketing, or reporting systems.
- Experience working with Product Success, Customer Success, or implementation teams on launches, adoption, and structured handovers.
- Experience with experimentation, conversion optimization, product analytics, or digital revenue growth.
- Experience in events or other time-critical environments where reliability and operational readiness are essential.
What success looks like
- Clear, evidence-based product priorities balancing customer needs, business value, and platform scalability.
- Product improvements with defined outcomes and measurable impact.
- Business units that understand product direction, adoption requirements, and the rationale behind decisions.
- Successful rollout and adoption of agreed capabilities, with risks and dependencies identified early.
- A sustainable partnership with Product Success, with responsibilities transferred progressively and without gaps in business engagement.
- More capacity for proactive discovery and continuous improvement, supported by strong customer and business insight.
