Role & responsibilities
- Develop progressive die concepts, tooling stages, and process sequences based on customer component drawings.
- Prepare strip layouts and perform press tonnage, cutting force, forming force, and punch-die clearance calculations.
- Create 2D and 3D tool designs, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or UG NX.
- Conduct DFM and DFMEA reviews, coordinate with toolmakers, and ensure proper tool material selection, machining, and heat treatment.
- Lead tool trials, troubleshoot tooling issues, implement corrective actions, and improve tool life, productivity, and cycle time.
