Job Title: Automation Test Engineer - API UI Automation Experience: 6-8 Years

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Automation Test Engineer with 6-8 years of experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks for both UI and API testing . The candidate should have strong expertise in Playwright and a solid understanding of modern automation practices . This role involves building scalable test automation solutions, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring overall product quality and stability across complex systems.

Key Responsibilities Automation Framework Development

- Design, develop, and maintain robust, reusable, and scalable automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript or JavaScript preferred).
- Develop end-to-end test automation for both web UI and REST API layers .
- Integrate automation frameworks with BDD tools like Cucumber for behavior-driven development.
- Maintain backward compatibility and optimize scripts for execution speed and parallelization.
- Ensure automation frameworks support execution across multiple environments and browsers.

Testing Execution

- Automate and execute UI test cases for responsive web applications using Playwright.
- Automate API validation using Postman, RestAssured, or Karate , validating responses, payloads, and performance.
- Work with DevOps teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions .
- Create and maintain test data and perform test result analysis and defect logging using Jira or equivalent tools.
- Continuously improve coverage for regression, smoke, and performance testing.

Collaboration Quality Governance

- Collaborate with developers, BAs, and product teams to define acceptance criteria and automation priorities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies - sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily standups - to align QA strategy.
- Perform code reviews , peer testing, and provide feedback on quality improvements.




- Contribute to automation best practices , process documentation, and internal QA knowledge base.

Required Skills Experience

- 6-8 years of experience in software testing with strong focus on automation (UI API) .
- Hands-on expertise with Playwright for web UI automation (JavaScript/TypeScript preferred).
- Strong understanding of Cucumber (BDD) and Gherkin syntax for scenario-based testing.
- Proficiency in API automation using tools like RestAssured, Postman, or Karate DSL .
- Knowledge of Java / TypeScript / JavaScript / Python for script development.
- Experience with version control (Git) and defect tracking tools (Jira, Zephyr) .
- Experience in continuous testing and CI/CD integration with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with test reporting frameworks like Allure , Extent Reports , or Cucumber HTML Reports .
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies .

Valuable to Have / Preferred Skills

- Experience with Selenium WebDriver or Cypress as a secondary automation tool.
- Exposure to API mocking and contract testing using WireMock or Pact .
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling .
- Familiarity with Docker for containerized test execution.
- Knowledge of cloud-based test execution platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).

Education Certifications

- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field .
- Certifications in Playwright, Selenium, or ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer preferred.
