We have been mandated by one of our clients, into refractory for the below mentioned role.

Job Title : Production Engineer (Basic Bricks)
Location: Khordha, Odisha
Experience: 3-7Years in PCPF, Basic Bricks, or High Alumina Bricks (Refractory Shapes)/ Monolithic
Educational Qualification: B.Sc/ Diploma (any stream)

Candidates with hands-on experience in PCPF, Basic Bricks, High Alumina Bricks or Refractory Shapes manufacturing will be preferred.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Production Engineer with 3-7 years of experience in refractory manufacturing, particularly in the production of PCPF (Pre-Cast Pre-Fired), Basic Bricks, High Alumina Bricks and Refractory Shapes /Monolithic products.

The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day production activities, ensuring product quality, maintaining process controls, coordinating manpower and achieving production targets while adhering to EHS standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure compliance with all EHS guidelines, safety protocols and workplace standards.
2. Monitor production activities and ensure quality and process control as per QC specifications.
3. Manage production of monolithic refractory products and PCPF as per production orders.
4. Read and interpret engineering drawings of refractory shapes and prepare indents for moulds and other production inputs.
5. Coordinate and follow up with relevant departments for timely mould availability.
6.



Inspect moulds and ensure first-piece inspection and approval before commencing bulk production.
7. Supervise kiln loading, unloading, drying and firing activities as per schedules provided by the QC team.
8. Ensure accurate production entries in SAP and reconcile book stock with physical stock.
9. Monitor production performance and maintain production dashboards.
10. Allocate manpower, supervise shop-floor activities and ensure efficient utilisation of resources.
11. Coordinate with QC, maintenance, stores and other departments for smooth production operations.
12. Promote Kaizen initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
13. Ensure proper housekeeping and implementation of 5S practices across the shop floor.
14. Actively participate in EHS initiatives and encourage secure working practices among team members.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Hands-on knowledge of refractory manufacturing, particularly PCPF, Basic Bricks and High Alumina Bricks.
- Experience in monolithic refractory production and refractory shapes manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand mould designs.
- Working knowledge of SAP PP (Production Planning) module.
- Knowledge of kiln operations, drying and firing processes.
- Understanding of production planning, quality control and inventory reconciliation.
- Manpower handling and shop-floor management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office.
- Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen and EHS practices.
