- Roles and Responsibilities
- Support New Product Development (NPD), Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE), New Technology Projects (NTP), and Quality Reliability projects-particularly for Unitary HVAC platforms, with focus on Airflow and Structural subsystems. Collaborate with global project owners, leaders, and cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Suppliers) to ensure project execution aligns with company processes and project management principles. Ensure the achievement of project milestones and deliverables within committed Quality, Delivery, Project Cost, and Product Cost targets. Support concept development, design calculations, and selection of HVAC components and system integration according to market needs, regulatory standards (DOE, AHRI, ASHRAE, UL, AMCA), and sustainability goals. Create and release engineering documentation using PLM/PDM tools, including designs, drawings, bill of materials, and specifications. Perform DFMEA, support execution of test plans, failure mode analysis, and engineering builds/testing. Use data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) for project reporting and decision making. Support supplier qualification plans, sourcing programs, and business continuity initiatives.



Contribute to process improvement and publish/present technical papers as required. Develop intellectual property through patentable solutions and participate in technical paper presentations, both internal and external. Support technical problem-solving, concept reviews, critical design reviews, and technical discussions with the global team. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement design changes.
- Required Skills
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or M.Tech in Mechanical/Fluid Dynamics or related specialization. At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Product design and development (component selection, system integration, concept development, and design within NPD, VAVE, NTP, and Quality Reliability projects). Basic knowledge of Thermodynamic principles. Basic knowledge of HVAC product simulation, test plan creation, and testing. Familiarity with selection and testing of airflow components (fans motors) is an advantage. Experience with engineering tools: DFMEA, DVPR, 8D, 9 Steps, FRACAS, and A3. Basic programming knowledge is an advantage. Experience using PLM/PDM tools for documentation. Ability to develop/specify HVAC components in collaboration with suppliers.
