Role & responsibilities

- Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using Go (Golang)
- Implement business logic and integrate with internal and third-party systems over REST/HTTP
- Improve system performance, reliability, and concurrency (caching, parallel processing, graceful degradation)
- Write automated tests and participate in code reviews and CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor, debug, and support production systems, including incident response
- Collaborate with mobile, platform, and integration teams on API contracts and feature delivery

API & Communication

- Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers (highly desirable)
- Service design, backward compatibility, unary/streaming patterns

Backend Patterns

- Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) / Server-driven UI
- Multi-region or multi-market systems




- Feature flags (e.g., LaunchDarkly, FeatureHub)
- Internationalisation support

Integrations

- GraphQL
- Headless CMS (e.g., Contentful)
- Analytics/event tracking systems
- Consent and privacy platforms

Infrastructure

- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
- Additional AWS services (SNS, Lambda, VPC, Secrets Manager)

Tooling

- golangci-lint, Make-based builds
- Protobuf tooling and shared schemas
- CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)

Operations

- Queue handling (DLQ, retries, redrive)
- Performance tuning and optimisation
- Disaster recovery and deployment strategies
