Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in sheet metal design, product development, and manufacturing processes, preferably in laboratory furniture, modular furniture, or industrial workstations.

- Key Responsibilities:Design and develop laboratory furniture, ESD workbenches, modular workstations, storage cabinets, instrument tables, mobile trolleys, overhead storage, service panels, and accessories.
- Prepare 2D and 3D designs using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Develop sheet metal components, considering bend allowance, bend deduction, laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, and assembly requirements.
- Prepare detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, BOM, and material cutting lists.
- Ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Work on product development, prototypes, and design modifications based on production feedback.
- Coordinate with production teams,



vendors, and customers for technical requirements and design improvements.
- Required Skills & Technical Knowledge:Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D Modelling & Sheet Metal Design).
- Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication, DFM, welding joints, and assembly design.
- Knowledge of CNC laser cutting, punching, bending, MIG/TIG welding, and powder coating processes.
- Familiarity with MS Excel, Word, and engineering documentation.
- Material knowledge of MS/CRCA, SS304/SS316, Aluminium, ESD laminate, and powder coating.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, prepare BOM, and support manufacturing activities.
- Required Competencies:Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and design accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Time management and customer requirement analysis.

Preferred: Candidates with experience in complete product design, laboratory furniture, sheet metal fabrication, prototype development, and manufacturing support will be preferred. Freshers with solid AutoCAD/SolidWorks skills and relevant project or internship experience may also apply.
