The Steward / Waiter will be responsible for providing attentive, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a welcoming dining experience, maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards, and supporting smooth restaurant operations in accordance with The Dreaming Tree's service standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Guest Service & Hospitality

- Welcome guests warmly and assist them with seating arrangements.
- Present menus and explain dishes, beverages, specials, and available offers.
- Provide recommendations based on guest preferences and dietary requirements.
- Maintain a polite, professional, and attentive approach throughout the dining experience.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and escalate complaints or concerns to the Restaurant Manager when necessary.

2. Order Taking & Service

- Take accurate food and beverage orders
- Confirm special requests, dietary restrictions, and food allergies with the kitchen team.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and beverage teams to ensure timely preparation and service.
- Serve food and beverages according to restaurant service standards.
- Check guest satisfaction during service without being intrusive.
- Clear used plates, cutlery, and glassware promptly and prepare tables for subsequent guests.

3. Menu & Product Knowledge

- Maintain thorough knowledge of the restaurant's food and beverage menu, ingredients, portion sizes, and pricing.
- Understand vegetarian, vegan, and Jain-friendly menu options and verify specific dietary requirements with the kitchen.
- Communicate daily specials, unavailable items,



and promotional offers accurately.
- Recommend suitable food and beverage pairings and additional menu items where appropriate.

4. Dining Area Maintenance

- Ensure tables, chairs, service stations, and dining areas remain clean, organised, and presentable.
- Complete table setup, including crockery, cutlery, glassware, napkins, and condiments.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout service and assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Report damaged furniture, equipment, or maintenance concerns promptly.

6. Teamwork & Operational Coordination

- Work closely with kitchen staff, beverage staff, hosts, and restaurant management.
- Communicate order modifications, delays, and guest requests clearly.
- Support colleagues during busy service periods, group reservations, and special events.
- Assist with event setups, corporate gatherings, and private dining arrangements when required.

7. Food Safety, Hygiene & Compliance

- Follow food handling, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Maintain personal hygiene, grooming, and prescribed uniform standards.
- Handle crockery, glassware, and service equipment safely.




- Follow applicable regulations and restaurant policies relating to beverage and alcohol service.
- Immediately report spills, accidents, safety hazards, or hygiene concerns.

8. Guest Feedback & Customer Relationships

- Encourage guests to share feedback about their dining experience.
- Communicate guest complaints, compliments, and suggestions to the Restaurant Manager.
- Assist in maintaining guest records and capturing contact information only with appropriate guest consent.
- Support restaurant initiatives aimed at improving guest satisfaction and repeat visits.

9. Professional Conduct & Accountability

- Maintain punctuality, discipline, and adherence to assigned duty schedules.
- Follow instructions and operational procedures established by restaurant management.
- Treat guests, colleagues, and management with courtesy and respect.
- Handle restaurant property and equipment responsibly.
- Perform other reasonable service-related duties assigned by the Restaurant Manager or management.
