Position: VMC PROGRAMMER

A VMC programmer specializing in 2D PowerMill and machine planning creates toolpaths, plans production sequences, and manages setup specs for vertical machining centers.

Core Job Responsibilities

- 2D & CAM Programming: Create, edit, and optimize 2D machining programs (roughing, profiling, pocketing, drilling, and contouring) using Autodesk PowerMill.
- Drawing & Model Interpretation: Read and interpret technical engineering drawings, 2D/3D CAD models, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) specifications.
- Machine Planning & Process Routing: Plan the complete machining sequence, setup orientation, fixture layout, and operation sheets to minimize cycle time.
- Tool & Parameter Selection: Choose optimal cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, spindle speeds, and feed rates based on material properties.
- Setup & Prove-Out:



Support shop floor teams during the initial trial run (prove-out) of new programs on VMC machines (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, or Siemens controllers).
- Optimization & Troubleshooting: Debug G-code/M-code errors, reduce cycle times, and resolve dimensional or surface-finish issues during production.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with tool rooms, production supervisors, and quality control teams to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering, or ITI in Machinist/Tool & Die Maker.
- Experience: Typically 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in VMC/CNC programming and shop floor operations.
- Software Proficiency: Robust working knowledge of PowerMill.

Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month
