Role & responsibilities

- Build, update and maintain all group WordPress websites

- Apply core, theme and plugin updates, testing on a staging copy first

- Keep sites secure: firewall, two-factor login, malware scans, SSL

- Run daily backups and test a restore regularly

- Speed up the sites (caching, image compression) and monitor uptime

- Handle SEO basics, Google Analytics and Search Console

- Connect website forms to company email so enquiries are not lost

- Keep sites POPIA-compliant (privacy policy, cookie notice)

- Document each site: hosting, plugins, logins, renewal dates

Preferred candidate profile

- 2+ years of qualified WordPress experience, with live sites to show

- PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and MySQL

- Custom themes and plugins, plus Elementor or the block editor





- Git, staging and production setups, cPanel or Linux hosting, DNS and Cloudflare

- Basic web security knowledge

Nice to have

- Diploma or degree in IT

- Experience with Microsoft 365 email, SPF, DKIM and DMARC

- Corporate or industrial website experience

- Basic design skills (Figma, Canva)

Terms

- Reports to the Group IT Head of Department

- 3-month probation
