Job Summary

Daymart Group is looking for an experienced and result-oriented Head of Merchandising to lead and manage merchandising operations across its supermarket and hypermarket stores in Kerala.

The ideal candidate should have robust expertise in grocery merchandising, category management, planogram implementation, shelf-space optimisation, promotional execution, and inventory productivity. The role requires the ability to develop effective merchandising strategies, improve product visibility, maximise sales and gross margins, and ensure consistent merchandising standards across all stores.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement merchandising strategies across all supermarket and hypermarket outlets.
- Plan and execute grocery planograms, shelf-space allocation, product placement, and display optimisation.
- Lead category management initiatives to improve product assortment, sales performance, and profitability.
- Ensure effective implementation of promotional activities, pricing strategies, offers, and in-store displays.
- Monitor product visibility, shelf availability, stock movement, and merchandising standards across stores.
- Analyse sales performance, gross margins, stock productivity, and category-wise performance to identify improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate with buying, procurement, operations, and store teams to ensure effective product availability and merchandising execution.




- Conduct regular multi-store merchandising audits and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Identify slow-moving products, stock gaps, high-performing categories, and opportunities for assortment improvement.
- Lead, guide, and develop merchandising teams to achieve business objectives.
- Prepare regular merchandising performance reports and recommend corrective actions to management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in merchandising, preferably in the supermarket or hypermarket industry.
- Strong knowledge of grocery merchandising, category management, and planogram development.
- Experience in shelf-space optimisation, product placement, pricing, and promotional execution.
- Good understanding of retail sales analysis, gross margin management, and inventory productivity.
- Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel across Daymart stores in Kerala.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in leading merchandising operations across multiple supermarket or hypermarket outlets will be given preference.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹49,000.00 per month
