Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable, motivated CNC / VMC Machine Operator to join our production team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for loading raw materials, operating computer numerically controlled (CNC) turning centers or vertical machining centers (VMC), monitoring machine cycles, and performing basic quality checks on finished components.

Freshers and trade apprentices (ITI / Diploma) with foundational knowledge of machining principles and measuring instruments are strongly encouraged to apply. Hands-on training and mentorship will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

- Machine Operation: Load raw materials or billets into chucks/fixtures, cycle start CNC/VMC machines, and unload machined components safely.
- Basic Quality Control: Inspect first-off and running parts using precision measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, go/no-go gauges).
- Setup & Tool Support: Assist senior technicians and setters with tool wear offsets, tool tip/insert replacements, and basic job setup.
- Process Monitoring: Monitor cycle times, listen for abnormal cutting chatter or machine noises,



and halt operations immediately if deviations or errors occur.
- Housekeeping & Fluid Care: Check coolant levels, top up lubricants, clear metal swarf/chips from the enclosure, and maintain 5S standards around the workstation.
- Documentation: Log daily production counts, rejected/rework parts, and inspection readings on production tracking sheets or ERP terminals.
- Safety Adherence: Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and follow shop-floor safety protocols.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

- Education:
- ITI Machinist / Fitter / Turner, OR
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering, OR
- High School Diploma / 10+2 with vocational mechanical training.
- Experience: Freshers welcome; up to 1 year of practical operating experience in an engineering workshop is a plus.
- Core Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of basic machining operations (facing, turning, milling, drilling, tapping).
- Familiarity with common controllers (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, or Mitsubishi) is helpful but not mandatory.
- Basic ability to read 2D mechanical engineering drawings and tolerance specifications.
- Working familiarity with basic hand measurement tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Willingness to learn and take direction from lead machinists.
- Punctuality, physical stamina to work standing during shifts, and attention to detail.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
