Test Data Engineer

Job Summary The Test Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, creating, and managing test data for Retail, Digital, Marketing, and Corporate applications. The role involves gathering test data requirements, generating synthetic and reusable datasets, performing data validation, and coordinating with DevOps, SRE, and data teams for production data extracts, masking, and database refreshes.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Gather test data requirements from QA Leads and QE teams for different releases.

- Create synthetic and reusable test data for customers, products, orders, payments, loyalty members, vendors, and employees.

- Coordinate with TSC teams for production data extracts, data masking, and database refresh activities.

- Perform data validation and ensure data consistency and referential integrity across multiple systems.

- Work with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.

- Automate test data creation using APIs, Python, Shell scripts, and other automation techniques.

- Prepare high-volume test data for performance testing and peak-season business scenarios.

- Coordinate with QA,



DevOps, SRE, and environment teams to ensure test data availability.

Mandatory Skills

- 4 to 8 years of experience in Test Data Management (TDM), Data Engineering, or Data-focused QA.

- Strong SQL knowledge with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.

- Experience in synthetic test data generation and test data management.

- Knowledge of data masking, data subsetting, and data validation.

- Good understanding of database concepts and referential integrity.

- Basic scripting experience in Python or Shell.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with TDM tools such as GenRocket, Tonic, K2view, Delphix, or Broadcom Test Data Manager.

- Knowledge of PCI DSS and data privacy regulations.

- Experience with API-based test data creation and automation.

- Exposure to Retail, E-commerce, POS, OMS, CRM, and ERP systems.

- Experience in preparing high-volume datasets for performance testing.

- Understanding of virtual services and test setting management.
