We are looking for an experienced Techno-Functional Data Analyst with strong Banking and Financial Services domain expertise to join our Commercial / Corporate Banking delivery programme.

The candidate will be responsible for analysing data across multiple systems, databases, tables, and sources, translating business requirements into clear data requirements and mappings, and ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and quality across banking applications.

The role requires strong hands-on SQL and data analysis skills, along with a good understanding of databases, data structures, APIs, interfaces, JSON, and batch/data feeds.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with both business and technical teams, investigating data issues, performing data validation, and communicating technical findings effectively to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis & Requirements Gathering

- Investigate and analyse data across multiple database tables and sources using SQL.
- Understand business requirements and business rules and translate them into clear data requirements and mappings.
- Perform data mapping, source-to-target analysis, data profiling, reconciliation, and data-quality analysis.
- Identify data discrepancies, inconsistencies, and gaps across multiple systems.
- Analyse upstream and downstream impacts when data sources, attributes, or mappings change.

2. Technical Understanding & Data Flows
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of databases, data structures, and data models.
- Analyse data sourcing and end-to-end data flows across banking applications.
- Understand and work with APIs, interfaces, database tables, SQL, JSON, and batch/data feeds.
- Analyse data movement and dependencies between upstream and downstream systems.
- Support data mapping and documentation for system integrations.

3. Data Validation & Issue Resolution
- Validate business calculations, transformations, field mappings, and data behaviour against business requirements.




- Investigate data-related issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, and Data Engineering teams to identify and resolve data issues.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and quality across systems.
- Support functional and data validation during implementation and testing.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile delivery environment.
- Document data analysis, mappings, requirements, and decisions in JIRA and Confluence.
- Communicate technical findings and data-related issues clearly to business stakeholders.
- Coordinate with business and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of data requirements.

Mandatory Skills

- 8+ years of overall IT industry experience.
- 5+ years of relevant Data Analysis / Techno-Functional experience.
- Strong experience in Banking / Financial Services (BFSI), preferably Commercial or Corporate Banking.
- Strong hands-on SQL and data analysis skills.
- Experience analysing data across multiple database tables and sources.
- Good understanding of databases, data structures, and data models.
- Hands-on experience in data mapping and source-to-target analysis.
- Experience in data profiling, data reconciliation, and data-quality analysis.
- Ability to translate business requirements and business rules into data requirements and mappings.
- Experience analysing upstream and downstream data impacts.
- Good understanding of data sourcing and end-to-end data flows across applications.
- Understanding of APIs, interfaces, database tables, JSON, and batch/data feeds.
- Experience validating business calculations, data transformations, field mappings, and data behaviour.
- Experience in data issue investigation and root-cause analysis.
- Ability to collaborate with BAs, Developers, Architects, and Data Engineering teams.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA and Confluence.
