We are looking for an experienced Techno-Functional Data Analyst with strong Banking and Financial Services domain knowledge to join our Commercial / Corporate Banking delivery programme.

The candidate will be responsible for analysing data across multiple systems, databases, tables, and sources, translating business requirements into data requirements and mappings, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency across banking applications.

The role requires strong hands-on SQL and data analysis skills, along with a good understanding of databases, APIs, interfaces, JSON, data structures, and end-to-end data flows.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with both business and technical teams, investigating data issues, performing data validation, and communicating findings effectively to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis & Requirements Gathering

- Analyse and investigate data across multiple database tables and sources using SQL.
- Understand business requirements, business rules, and translate them into clear data requirements.
- Perform data mapping, source-to-target mapping, data profiling, reconciliation, and data-quality analysis.
- Identify data discrepancies, inconsistencies, and gaps across different systems.
- Analyse upstream and downstream impacts of changes to data sources, attributes, and mappings.

2. Technical Understanding & Data Flows




- Develop and maintain an understanding of databases, data structures, and data models.
- Analyse data sourcing and end-to-end data flows across banking applications.
- Understand and work with APIs, interfaces, database tables, SQL queries, JSON, and batch/data feeds.
- Analyse data movement and dependencies between upstream and downstream systems.
- Support data mapping and documentation for system integrations.

3. Data Validation & Issue Resolution
- Validate business calculations, data transformations, field mappings, and data behaviour against business requirements.
- Investigate data-related issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, and Data Engineering teams to resolve data issues.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and quality across systems.
- Support functional and data validation during implementation and testing.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile delivery setting.
- Document data analysis, mappings, requirements, and decisions in JIRA and Confluence.
- Communicate technical findings and data-related issues clearly to business stakeholders.
- Coordinate with business and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of data requirements.
