About the Company

Saravana Engineering & Infratech Pvt. Ltd. is an engineering company operating across Solar EPC, Battery Manufacturing, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Electric Vehicles (EV), Industrial IoT, and Smart Infrastructure.

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Technical Head – BESS to lead the technical design, engineering, integration, testing, commissioning, and execution of Battery Energy Storage System projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in BESS technology, battery systems, power conversion systems, energy management systems, electrical integration, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. BESS Technical Design & Engineering

- Lead technical design and engineering activities for Battery Energy Storage System projects.
- Develop BESS system architecture based on project requirements and customer specifications.
- Review technical specifications, single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical drawings, layouts, and system configurations.
- Evaluate battery capacity, power ratings, energy requirements, and system sizing.
- Ensure proper integration of battery systems with electrical infrastructure.

2. Battery & System Integration

- Oversee integration of battery racks, battery modules, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and associated protection systems.
- Coordinate integration of Power Conversion Systems (PCS), inverters, transformers, switchgear, and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
- Understand AC-coupled and DC-coupled BESS architectures.
- Review system communication, monitoring, control, and protection requirements.
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability between different BESS components.

3. Project Execution & Commissioning

- Lead technical activities from project design and engineering through installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with project execution, electrical, civil, procurement, and installation teams.
- Review project progress and resolve technical challenges during execution.
- Oversee system testing, performance validation, and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with customers, consultants, vendors,



and project stakeholders.

4. Testing, Performance & Quality

- Establish technical quality standards for BESS systems and projects.
- Oversee battery performance testing, system validation, and functional testing.
- Monitor system efficiency, operating performance, and reliability.
- Identify technical failures and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical, battery safety, and grid interconnection standards.

5. Safety & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure implementation of BESS safety requirements and protection mechanisms.
- Review thermal management, fire detection, fire suppression, and emergency shutdown systems.
- Ensure proper electrical protection, earthing, isolation, and safety procedures.
- Stay updated on applicable BESS standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements.

6. Vendor & Technical Team Management

- Evaluate BESS technology providers, battery suppliers, PCS manufacturers, and system integrators.
- Review technical proposals, equipment specifications, and vendor documentation.
- Lead and guide engineering and technical teams.
- Coordinate with sales teams for technical discussions, customer requirements, and solution proposals.
- Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and management updates.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in BESS, energy storage, power systems, or related electrical engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of battery energy storage technologies and BESS system architecture.
- Experience with battery systems, BMS, PCS/inverters, EMS, and electrical integration.
- Knowledge of AC/DC systems, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and electrical drawings.
- Experience in technical project execution, testing, and commissioning.
- Strong technical problem-solving and team leadership skills.




- Good communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in grid-connected or behind-the-meter BESS projects.
- Knowledge of solar PV and BESS hybrid integration.
- Experience in utility-scale, commercial and industrial (C&I;), or industrial energy storage projects.
- Knowledge of SCADA, EMS, energy monitoring, and communication protocols.
- Familiarity with grid synchronization and interconnection requirements.
- Experience working with BESS system integrators, battery manufacturers, or renewable energy companies.

- Successful completion of BESS installation and commissioning activities.

Salary & Benefits

- Salary: Up to ₹12 LPA.
- Compensation and hike will be considered based on relevant experience, current/last drawn CTC, and suitability for the role.
