SYSTEM ENGINEER

ROLE PURPOSE:

Administer and support server and virtualization infrastructure to maintain reliable, secure system services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Install, configure and administer Linux and Windows server environments and their associated services.
- Manage virtual machines, hosts and virtualization resources; monitor capacity, availability and performance.
- Perform approved patching, upgrades and configuration changes, including pre-change checks and rollback planning.
- Monitor system alerts, diagnose service failures and coordinate recovery with infrastructure teams and vendors.
- Administer backups and support scheduled restore tests and disaster recovery procedures.
- Apply system hardening, access controls and security updates in coordination with security teams.
- Maintain server inventories, configurations,



operating procedures and incident records.
- Support infrastructure projects, testing, documentation and knowledge transfer to operational teams.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

TECHNICAL AND QUALIFIED SKILLS:

Solid experience in Linux and Windows administration, VMware virtualization, backup and recovery, monitoring and troubleshooting. Ability to automate routine tasks and communicate technical issues clearly.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

Service availability and timely incident resolution; quality of completed work and documentation; adherence to approved change, security and safety procedures.
