State Legal Manager Defense Department:

Defense Reports To: Circle Head Defense

Location: Delhi

1.Job Purpose

Protect and preserve the assets of the finance sector by effectively managing and defending all legal matters and litigation filed against the Company and its employees and ensuring all matters are taken to their logical conclusion.

2. Duties & Responsibilities

- Handle all civil and consumer defense litigation.
- Prepare and vet replies, counters, rejoinders, affidavits, written statements, and evidence.
- Engage and manage external advocates as per SOP.
- Monitor case progress and ensure timely compliance with court orders.
- Formulate preventive legal strategies to reduce adverse orders.
- Maintain MIS and update case status on the legal portal.
- Update case summaries in the legal library portal.
- File appeals within statutory timelines and manage deposits and withdrawals.
- Prepare synopsis and appeal documentation.

Key Challenges

- Ensuring timely representation and submissions.
- Compliance with court orders.
- Initiation of appeals and revisions within timelines.
- Vetting legal drafts and pleadings.

4. Decision Making Authority

- Independent: Lower court defense, drafting and vetting replies.
- With Manager: Appeals and compliance.
- Higher Management: Matters before Supreme Court.

5. Stakeholder Interaction Internal: IT, Branch Accounts, Business Teams, Collection Department. External: Lawyers and Legal Vendors.

6. Job Requirements Qualification:

LL.B. with 36 years of relevant experience. Knowledge: Legal and product knowledge. Skills: Communication, networking, negotiation, teamwork. Attitude: Positive, customer-focused, proactive
