Key Responsibilities:-

- Pre-Operative Care:
- Prepare the operation theatre, sterile packs, instruments, and equipment.
- Verify patient identity, surgical consent forms, site marking, and safety checklists.
- Assist the anesthesiologist with preparation.
- Intra-Operative Care (Scrub & Circulating Duties):
- Function as a scrub nurse (handling sterile instruments directly to the surgeon) or a circulating nurse (managing the unsterile room environment and supplies).
- Maintain strict aseptic and infection control techniques.
- Perform accurate counts of instruments, needles, blades, and sponges/swabs to prevent retained items.
- Post-Operative Care:
- Transfer patients safely to the recovery room or ICU.
- Complete surgical and nursing documentation, specimen handling, and count sheets.
- Restock, clean, and sterilize the OT for subsequent procedures through the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD).

Qualifications & Requirements:-




- Education: GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) or B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registration: Active state nursing council registration.
- Experience: 1 to 3+ years of working experience in a hospital Operation Theatre (specialty experience like Cardiac or Neuro-OT may be preferred depending on the department).
- Core Skills: Knowledge of surgical protocols, infection control, equipment handling, emergency response, and strong teamwork.
