About the Role The SOC Analyst will work collaboratively on the Nuventure Connect 24x7 security operations team to monitor, investigate, analyse, and respond to threat activity in our client environments. The team’s purpose is to be an extension of our clients’ security operations team for continuous monitoring and response services in their environments. The SOC operates with core values of kindness, humility, and respect, and it is essential to be a team player with a selfless mentality as we aim to deliver success to our clients.

The Analyst should have familiarity with the principles of network, endpoint, and cloud security, current threat and attack trends, and be able to further the investigations through technical validation, research, and/or seek internal assistance with escalations to clients. As a contributor to the SOC team, the Junior SOC Analyst should aspire to perform all security operations tasks and obligations for our clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Perform daily SOC duties that include threat investigation, analysis, documentation, and incident response services of client event and incident information within SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms, EDR, and the SOAR platform.




- Monitor all event/alert queues within the SOAR for appropriate case status, update status if necessary, and provide additional assistance such as further communication with the client and/or team members, when needed.
- Ensures that all identified events are promptly validated and thoroughly investigated to closure.
- As needed, willing to mentor junior SOC Analysts with training, investigation techniques with new tools, processes, etc.
- As needed, willing to support off-hours on-call rotation.
- As needed, willing to support night-shift SOC scheduling.

Qualification
- Must have 1-2 years’ experience progressively working within the IT Security field as it relates to Security Analysis using SIEM and EDR technologies or other investigative methodologies, equivalent training, or certification.
- Must have proficiency in English with the ability to speak and write at a professional level
- Experience with EDR technology, such as: SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, etc.
- Experience with SIEM technology, such as: Elastic, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, etc.
- Experience with SOAR technology, such as: Swimlane, Tines, etc.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP communications and the OSI model
- Strong grasp of IT Security methodologies and approaches
- Understanding and experience with incident response methodologies
- Working knowledge of security issues, vulnerabilities, exploits, regulatory and legal changes, and security standards that may impact information security
- Ability to communicate IT, networking, and security concepts to personnel at all levels of experience and responsibility
