The Service Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on generator sets/engines to ensure they are operating efficiently and reliably. This role involves both fieldwork at customer sites and shop work at the service centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
- Perform diagnostic tests on generators to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Repairs and Maintenance:
- Conduct routine maintenance on gensets, including oil changes, filter replacements, and coolant checks.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as alternators, starters, fuel systems, and control panels.
- Installation and Commissioning:
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new gensets at customer sites.
- Ensure proper setup, calibration, and functioning of all components.
- Customer Service:
- Interact with customers to explain repair and maintenance work.
- Provide recommendations on generator upkeep and answer technical questions.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering quality service and support.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of all service work performed.
Required Qualifications:
- Basic Requirements & Education:
- ITI in electrical or mechanic motor vehicle
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical basic concepts.
- Good learner.
- Experience:
- 0 to 2 years of experience in maintenance and repair of generator sets/engines or similar heavy equipment.
- Experience with both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Skills:
- Robust diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
