We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Developer with 5-7 years of overall ServiceNow experience and strong hands-on experience implementing and enhancing enterprise asset-management solutions.

The resource will configure and develop SAM and HAM capabilities, translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions, support integrations and data onboarding, and contribute across design, build, testing, deployment and production stabilization. The candidate should work independently with solution architects, asset-management process owners, functional consultants and distributed delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, develop and enhance solutions using ServiceNow Software Asset Management Qualified (SAM Pro) and Hardware Asset Management Professional (HAM Pro).

Configure end-to-end hardware and software asset lifecycle processes, including request, receipt, inventory, deployment, transfer, stock management, retirement and disposal.

Configure software asset processes including entitlement management, software models, discovery normalization, reconciliation, compliance positions, remediation and optimization workflows.

Configure hardware asset models, model categories, stockrooms, transfer orders, asset states/substates, inventory controls and refresh/retirement workflows.

Develop Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, UI Actions, Flow Designer flows/subflows, ACLs, notifications, scheduled jobs, Import Sets and Transform Maps.

Configure and enhance Asset Management Workspace and related forms, lists, dashboards and user experiences.

Support software and hardware data onboarding from discovery, procurement, endpoint-management, HR, finance and vendor sources.

Develop and support integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub and MID Server where applicable.

Support integration and data alignment with CMDB,



Discovery, Service Mapping, procurement and contract-management processes.

Configure software-product and hardware-product models, normalization rules and data-quality controls.

Build reports and dashboards for inventory, compliance, lifecycle status, reclamation, normalization, spend and optimization-related outcomes.

Perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and sustainable remediation of functional and technical issues.

Create unit-test evidence and support system integration testing, user acceptance testing and production validation.

Follow ServiceNow development standards and promote changes across instances using approved release mechanisms.

Prepare technical designs, configuration documentation, deployment instructions and release notes.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

5-7 years of hands-on ServiceNow development and implementation experience.

Strong hands-on implementation experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro and/or HAM Pro; experience across both is strongly preferred.

Good understanding of IT asset-management processes covering hardware and software lifecycle management.

Experience with software models, entitlements, license metrics, normalization, reconciliation and compliance positions.

Experience with hardware models, model categories, stockrooms, transfer orders, asset states/substates and lifecycle workflows.

Strong ServiceNow development skills using JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, UI Actions, Flow Designer and ACLs.





Experience with Asset Management Workspace configuration and enhancement.

Experience with Import Sets, Transform Maps, data certification/quality controls and bulk asset data onboarding.

Experience developing REST/SOAP integrations with external enterprise applications.

Working knowledge of CMDB and the relationship between asset records and configuration items.

Experience building asset-management reports and dashboards.

Experience across design, development, unit testing, SIT/UAT support, deployment and production stabilization.

Ability to troubleshoot complex technical and data-quality issues and convert requirements into maintainable solutions.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

Experience with ServiceNow Discovery and software-installation data used by SAM.

Experience with Service Graph Connectors, endpoint-management tools or software-distribution integrations.

Exposure to procurement, contract management, vendor management and financial management processes.

Experience with software-publisher content, product-use rights and complex license metrics.

Experience with SaaS license management, software usage, reclamation and optimization.

Experience with mobile asset receiving, inventory or stockroom processes.

Performance Analytics experience for asset-management KPIs.

Experience supporting ServiceNow upgrades and remediation of customizations.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models.

Preferred Certifications

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).

ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Software Asset Management.

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Hardware Asset Management.

Other relevant ServiceNow implementation certifications or accreditations.

Certifications are preferred and should complement demonstrable hands-on SAM/HAM implementation experience.
