Description

Role Description: Junior Functional / Automation Test Engineer with 0–1 year of experience or a basic understanding of software testing. The candidate should have a good foundation in manual testing, an interest in test automation, and a willingness to learn testing tools, frameworks, and processes. Knowledge of the Banking and Financial Services domain will be an added advantage

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Testing Fundamentals: Basic understanding of software testing concepts, testing methodologies, and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

- Domain Knowledge: Basic knowledge of Banking and Financial Services is an advantage.

- Manual Testing: Understanding of test scenarios, test case preparation, test execution, and defect reporting.

- Automation Testing: Basic knowledge of Selenium WebDriver and Java. Familiarity with BDD Cucumber, TestNG, or JUnit is an added advantage.

- CI/CD: Basic awareness of CI/CD concepts and the role of automated testing in software delivery.

- Agile Methodology: Basic understanding of Agile and Scrum practices.





- Communication and Teamwork: Positive communication skills, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in preparing test scenarios and test cases based on functional requirements.

- Understand business requirements and clarify doubts with senior team members.

- Identify test data requirements and assist in test data preparation and setup.

- Execute manual test cases and record the results.

- Assist in System Integration Testing (SIT) and regression testing activities.

- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright under the guidance of senior team members.

- Identify, document, and report defects with clear steps to reproduce the issues.

- Retest defects after fixes and support regression testing.

- Maintain test execution reports and testing documentation.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies, team discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

- Continuously improve testing skills by learning new tools, technologies, and automation practices.
