1. Job Purpose

To provide senior technical leadership in process engineering for desalination, water treatment and wastewater treatment projects. The role involves overseeing process design, engineering calculations, technical reviews, project execution, commissioning and performance optimisation, ensuring compliance with international standards, project specifications and contractual requirements.
1. Key Roles and Responsibilities

A. Process Design & Engineering

- Lead process engineering activities for seawater desalination (SWRO), brackish water RO and water treatment projects.
- Review and approve process design basis, process flow diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;).
- Perform and validate mass balance, water balance, hydraulic calculations and process simulations.
- Develop process design calculations, equipment sizing and technical specifications.
- Review membrane selection, RO system configuration, recovery rates and energy optimisation.
- Ensure appropriate design of pretreatment, filtration, chemical dosing, post-treatment and remineralisation systems.

B. Technical Leadership

- Provide technical guidance and leadership to process engineers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Review and approve technical deliverables, calculations, reports and design documents.
- Establish engineering standards, design methodologies and quality requirements.
- Identify technical risks and recommend cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Participate in technical discussions with clients, consultants, vendors and project management teams.

C. EPC Project Execution

- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil and piping engineering teams.
- Review vendor drawings, technical offers and equipment submittals.
- Support tender engineering,



technical bid evaluation and proposal preparation.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet project schedules, budgets and contractual requirements.
- Support construction, installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

D. Plant Performance & Troubleshooting

- Lead process troubleshooting and performance optimisation of desalination and water treatment plants.
- Review plant performance parameters, including water quality, recovery rate, membrane flux and specific energy consumption.
- Investigate operational issues, scaling, fouling and membrane performance deterioration.
- Lead performance guarantee testing and process acceptance activities.

E. Client & Stakeholder Management

- Act as the senior technical representative for process engineering.
- Participate in client meetings, technical presentations and design review meetings.
- Coordinate with international consultants, technology providers and equipment suppliers.
- Provide technical support during project execution and operational handover.

1. Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering / Environmental Engineering / Water Resources Engineering.
- Master's Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering is desirable.
- Relevant professional certifications in water treatment or desalination will be an advantage.

1. Experience Requirements

- Minimum 25 years of overall professional experience in process engineering.
- Extensive experience in desalination, water treatment and wastewater treatment projects.
- Proven experience in large-scale seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plants.
- Strong experience in EPC, engineering consultancy or water infrastructure projects.




- Demonstrated experience in leading process engineering teams and managing complex technical deliverables.
- Experience in international projects, particularly Middle East projects, will be an advantage.
