Job Summary

St. Froebel Senior Secondary School is inviting applications from passionate, creative, and dedicated educators for the position of Theatre Teacher. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in theatre, drama, and performing arts, along with the ability to nurture students’ creativity, confidence, communication skills, and stage presence.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

- Graduate or postgraduate degree in Theatre, Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Relevant professional training or certification in theatre and performing arts will be an added advantage.

Experience:

- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in theatre, drama, or performing arts in a recognized school or educational institution.
- Experience in directing school plays, stage performances, and cultural programmes will be preferred.

Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of theatre techniques, acting, voice modulation, and stage movement.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and performance skills.
- Ability to train students in acting, dialogue delivery, improvisation, and expression.
- Proficiency in script reading, scriptwriting, and stage direction.
- Ability to develop students’ confidence, creativity, teamwork, and public-speaking skills.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.




- Ability to organize rehearsals and prepare students for stage performances.
- Creativity, patience, and a student-centric approach to teaching.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Conduct theatre and drama classes for students across different age groups.
- Plan and deliver engaging, interactive, and activity-based theatre sessions.
- Train students in acting, voice modulation, facial expressions, body language, and stage presence.
- Direct and coordinate school plays, theatrical productions, assemblies, and cultural programmes.
- Assist students in script reading, dialogue delivery, improvisation, and character development.
- Organize rehearsals and prepare students for annual functions, inter-school competitions, and other school events.
- Encourage creativity, collaboration, confidence, and self-expression among students.
- Coordinate with teachers and the school administration for stage productions and cultural activities.
- Maintain a disciplined, inclusive, and encouraging learning workplace.

Preferred

- Experience in directing school productions and annual day performances.
- Knowledge of stage management, lighting, sound, and basic backstage coordination.
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working with school students of different age groups.
- Immediate joiners will be preferred.
