Senior Data Engineer (Production Support)

Key Responsibilities

- Pipeline Support:

Monitor, triage, and debug production data pipelines (

Airflow, dbt, PySpark, Snowflake

) to ensure high availability and meet SLA targets.

- Incident Management:

Perform deep-dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on failures and implement permanent fixes rather than short-term workarounds.

- Performance Tuning:

Optimize Snowflake warehouses, dbt models, and SQL queries for speed, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

- Observability & Guardrails:

Improve data quality checks, alerting rules, and write clear runbooks to prevent recurring incidents.

- Stakeholder Support:

Resolve ad-hoc data requests, manage pipeline enhancements,



and provide timely transparent updates during critical incidents.

Tech Stack & Core Qualifications

- Core Stack:

Hands-on expertise with

Snowflake, dbt, PySpark, and Apache Airflow

.

- Support Fundamentals:

5+ years in data engineering with direct experience in production support, incident triage, backfills, and DAG failure resolution.

- Data Observability:

Strong grasp of monitoring, data quality frameworks, and root-cause analysis.

- Nice-to-Have:

Hands-on experience with

PagerDuty for alerting, on-call schedules, and escalation flows.

- Soft Skills:

Excellent verbal and written English with transparent incident-communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
