Role Overview

Our client is establishing an enterprise-scale data platform on GCP and requires a Principal Architect with repeated experience designing and delivering enterprise data platforms. This is not a build-only role. The candidate must have a explicit architectural point of view on enterprise ingestion and streaming frameworks, defend architectural decisions with internal architecture, infrastructure, and security teams, and adapt approaches to genuine client constraints while maintaining architectural standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Reference Architecture: Bring proven reference architectures for enterprise-level ingestion across batch, API, and streaming on GCP, based on hands-on delivery experience.
- Enterprise Platform Architecture: Design integrated ingestion, streaming, and storage patterns across Kafka, Dataflow, GCS, BigQuery, and Composer, ensuring they scale together through CI/CD rather than as isolated solutions.
- Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs): Define, present, and justify availability, latency, data quality, retention, disaster recovery, security classification, and cost governance requirements to engineering, risk, and business stakeholders.
- Framework Generalization: Design configuration schemas, archetypes,



and governance rules that enable internal teams to onboard new data sources and streaming workloads without repeated custom engineering.
- CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Establish robust DevSecOps practices and automated CI/CD pipelines for deploying the platform and its configurations.
- Code Reviews: Ensure implementation aligns with the approved architecture and coding standards, and recommend optimizations.
- Knowledge Transfer: Document architectural decisions and rationale through architecture decision records and onboarding guides, enabling internal teams to maintain and extend the framework and support the handover to SRE.

Required Skills and Experience

- Demonstrated architecture experience across Kafka, Pub/Sub, Dataflow/Apache Beam, GCS, BigQuery, Composer, and GitHub Actions.
- Strong understanding of how these services integrate into a single, scalable enterprise data platform.
- Expert-level Java, optimized for Apache Beam/Dataflow frameworks.
- Experience designing resource and scaling models for streaming workloads across throughput, message density, statefulness, latency SLAs, and topic/publisher volume.
- Hands-on experience with IAM, landing zone, and organization policy design at enterprise scale.
- Ability to engage credibly with client cloud operations and security teams on architecture and infrastructure decisions.

Pay: Up to ₹3,600,000.00 per year Work Location: Hybrid remote in Bangalore City, Bengaluru, Karnataka
