Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, financial records, taxation compliance, and accounts management activities. The candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, GST, TDS, financial reporting, and reconciliation, preferably with experience in the logistics or freight forwarding industry.

The ideal candidate should be capable of independently handling accounting activities, coordinating with internal departments, managing vendor and customer accounts, and ensuring timely financial reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Operations

- Manage day-to-day accounting activities and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Handle general ledger, journal entries, payment vouchers, and receipt vouchers.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Manage customer invoicing, vendor bills, and expense accounting.
- Maintain and review customer and vendor ledgers.
- Perform bank reconciliation and inter-company account reconciliation.
- Monitor outstanding payments and receivables.

2. Taxation & Compliance

- Handle GST-related activities, including data preparation, reconciliation, and return coordination.
- Manage TDS calculations, deductions, and return filing coordination.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and taxation regulations.
- Coordinate with auditors and consultants for statutory and tax audits.
- Maintain proper records of tax-related documents and financial transactions.

3. Financial Reporting & MIS

- Prepare monthly financial statements and accounting reports.
- Prepare outstanding receivable and payable reports.
- Monitor expenses and assist in budgeting and cost control.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports for management.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.

Logistics Accounts Management

- Handle accounting for freight forwarding, transportation, and logistics-related transactions.
- Verify freight invoices, airline charges, shipping line charges, transport bills, and other operational expenses.
- Coordinate with the operations team for shipment-wise billing and cost verification.
- Monitor shipment-related expenses and customer billing.
- Ensure accurate job costing and profitability tracking for shipments.

5. Team & Coordination

- Supervise and guide junior accounting staff.
- Coordinate with customers, vendors, banks, auditors, and internal departments.
- Ensure timely completion of accounting activities and reporting.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting-related issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA in Finance or equivalent qualification.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, or transportation accounting will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
- Good understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Experience in bank reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of financial statements and MIS reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage accounting operations and meet deadlines.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates with prior experience in a freight forwarding or logistics company will be given preference.
- Should have strong knowledge of shipment-wise costing and freight billing.
- Must be capable of independently handling accounts and finance operations.
- Should have good communication, coordination, and team management skills.
