About the role

Proservartner is looking for a hard hitting Source to Pay expert, based in Pune, to assess the maturity of a client's S2P function and then drive the improvements through to real results. This is an initial 6 month engagement.

You will run a structured maturity assessment across the full S2P cycle, from sourcing and contracting through procurement, invoice processing and payment. You will benchmark the function against best practice, identify the gaps that matter most, and build a prioritised action plan. Then you will roll your sleeves up and push those actions through, holding stakeholders to account until the changes land.



We need someone who challenges the status quo and gets things done, not someone who writes a report and walks away.

Key responsibilities

● Plan and lead an end to end S2P maturity assessment covering sourcing, contracting, purchasing, receiving, invoice processing, payments, supplier management, policy and controls.

● Assess the S2P operating model, organisation, processes, technology, data and KPIs against leading practice and benchmarks.

● Run interviews, workshops and process walkthroughs with procurement, AP, finance and business stakeholders, and analyse transaction data to back up findings.

● Identify the root causes of issues such as maverick spend, low PO compliance, invoice exceptions, late payments, duplicate payments and weak supplier data.

● Turn findings into a clear maturity scorecard and a prioritised improvement roadmap, with quick wins, benefits, owners and timelines.

● Present findings and recommendations confidently to senior leaders, including the CPO, CFO and S2P process owners.

● Drive the action plan through to completion, setting up governance, tracking progress and holding owners to account.

● Lead or support quick win improvements in policy, process, controls, automation and system configuration.

● Define and embed S2P KPIs and reporting so improvements can be measured and sustained.

● Hand over a sustainable improvement plan and the capability to keep it going at the end of the engagement.





What you'll bring - Essential

● At least 10 years of experience in Source to Pay, procurement or P2P, including senior roles leading or transforming S2P functions.

● Proven experience running S2P maturity assessments, diagnostics or health checks, and turning them into action plans.

● A strong track record of driving improvement actions through to measurable results, not only making recommendations.

● Deep end to end S2P process knowledge, including sourcing, contracting, purchasing, Accounts Payable, supplier management and controls.

● Strong data analysis skills, using spend, PO, invoice and payment data to find issues and prove impact.

● Experience with S2P technology such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle or SAP MM, and invoice automation tools.

● A confident, challenging style, with the presence to hold senior stakeholders to account.

● Based in Pune and available to start a 6 month engagement, with fluent English.

Desirable

● Consulting experience with a consultancy, Big 4 or BPO.

● Experience in GBS or shared services environments.

● Experience with process mining or analytics tools such as Celonis or Power BI.

● Lean, Six Sigma or a procurement qualification such as CIPS.

● Experience across multiple industries and geographies.
