Role & responsibilities

- Procure mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical bought-out items as per project BOM (motors, gearboxes, drives, sensors, valves, cylinders, pumps, filtration systems, bearings, LM guides, fasteners, electrical panels and automation components)

- Release POs through ERP

- Track ordering and delivery project-wise, against each projects schedule

- Plan long-lead items in advance to meet build schedules

- Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery

- Coordinate with Design to verify specifications and finalise alternatives where required

- Develop vendors for current items

- Prepare quotation comparisons and analyse price history to support negotiations

- Negotiate with suppliers and manage rate contracts

- Coordinate with Stores and QC on receipt, inspection and rejections





- Raise warranty complaints with suppliers for failed items and follow up until they are replaced or repaired

- Track stock and manage inventory of regular items

- Resolve PO and invoice mismatches with Accounts

- Report status of open orders and pending deliveries

Preferred candidate profile

- BE / Diploma (Mechanical or Electrical)

- 2-6 years in purchase, preferably in machine building or automation

- Prior experience with purchasing via ERP, reading drawings and BOMs, negotiation, follow-up discipline

- Good knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical bought-out items used in machine tools or similar special-purpose machines
