A Senior Lab Technician is responsible for managing daily laboratory operations, supervising junior lab technicians, ensuring accurate test results, maintaining quality standards, and delivering reports on time.

1. Main Roles and Responsibilities. Laboratory Operations

- Perform routine and specialized laboratory investigations.
- Handle blood, urine, stool and other clinical samples.
- Perform CBC, FBS, PPBS, HbA1c, Lipid Profile, LFT, RFT, Thyroid Profile and other diagnostic tests.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and analyzers.
- Ensure proper sample collection, labelling, processing and storage.
- Verify test results before releasing reports.
- Ensure timely delivery of laboratory reports.

B. Quality Control (QC)

- Perform daily internal quality control procedures.
- Maintain accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Monitor equipment calibration and performance.
- Maintain quality control registers and records.
- Identify abnormal or inconsistent results and repeat tests when required.
- Follow laboratory SOPs and quality standards.
- Ensure proper documentation of corrective actions.

C. Team Management

- Supervise junior lab technicians and phlebotomists.
- Allocate daily laboratory duties.
- Train new laboratory staff.




- Monitor staff punctuality, discipline and performance.
- Ensure proper workflow during peak hours.
- Check whether all assigned work is completed.

D. Equipment and Inventory Management

- Maintain all laboratory equipment in working condition.
- Monitor reagents, chemicals, kits and consumables.
- Check expiry dates and stock availability.
- Maintain equipment maintenance and service records.
- Inform management before stock reaches minimum levels.
- Coordinate with equipment service engineers.
- Prevent unnecessary wastage of reagents and consumables.

E. Patient Care and Sample Collection

- Ensure proper patient identification before sample collection.
- Follow correct blood collection procedures.
- Maintain patient comfort and safety.
- Follow infection control and biomedical waste disposal procedures.
- Ensure proper handling of critical and urgent samples.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.

F. Reporting and Administration

- Verify laboratory reports for accuracy.
- Maintain daily test registers.
- Monitor pending and delayed reports.
- Maintain daily sample collection records.
- Report equipment breakdowns and technical issues to management.
- Coordinate with doctors regarding critical or doubtful results.
- Prepare daily and monthly laboratory performance reports.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
