Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Semantic Data Architect with strong expertise in ontology engineering, semantic data modeling, taxonomy management, and knowledge graph development. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building enterprise-scale semantic models using RDF-based technologies and W3C standards.
You will be responsible for connecting fragmented enterprise data, structuring business information, and developing knowledge graphs that support enterprise search, analytics, and AI-driven applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise ontologies, semantic models, and knowledge graphs.
- Connect data from multiple enterprise systems to establish relationships between products, customers, services, assets, and business metadata.
- Apply W3C standards, including RDF, RDFS, OWL, and SPARQL, to build interoperable semantic data models.
- Design and manage enterprise taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and semantic metadata extraction processes.
- Implement SHACL for data validation and constraint management, along with SKOS for taxonomy and knowledge organization.
- Develop and optimize knowledge graphs to support enterprise search, data discovery, analytics, and AI applications.
- Work with graph databases such as Neo4j, GraphDB, Amazon Neptune, or Stardog.
- Use enterprise ontology and taxonomy management platforms such as PoolParty, TopBraid EDG, or equivalent tools.
- Collaborate with data engineers, software developers, AI/ML teams, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into machine-readable semantic models.
- Support ontology deployment and operations in cloud environments using AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Maintain semantic model quality, consistency, scalability, and documentation across enterprise systems.
Mandatory Skills and Qualifications
- 7–10 years of overall IT or data-related experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience specifically in RDF-based semantic ontology design, development, and structuring.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, content and information management, and semantic metadata extraction.
- Proven expertise in taxonomy design, controlled vocabularies, and taxonomy lifecycle management.
- Expert-level knowledge of RDF, RDFS, OWL, and SPARQL.
- Hands-on experience with at least one ontology or taxonomy management platform, such as PoolParty, TopBraid EDG, or GraphDB/Ontotext.
- Production experience with at least one graph database: Neo4j, GraphDB, Amazon Neptune, or Stardog.
- Practical knowledge of SHACL and SKOS.
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Solid written and spoken English, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Full flexibility and willingness to work during US time-zone hours on an ongoing basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NLP, spaCy, Named Entity Recognition (NER), or automated semantic metadata extraction.
- Experience optimizing enterprise search and AI-powered knowledge discovery solutions.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Library Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Certifications or additional training in information management, knowledge organization, or library automation.
Pay: ₹2,700,000.00 - ₹4,500,000.00 per year
