· Support digital learning, simulations and continuous curriculum improvement.

Required Technical Skills – Mandatory

· Inpatient and outpatient billing; Type of Bill, Revenue Codes, Condition Codes, Occurrence Codes, Value Codes and Patient Status Codes.

· Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payer billing guidelines; eligibility, authorization, COB and medical necessity concepts.

· Claim creation, edits, rejections, corrections, resubmissions, hospital AR follow-up and denial management.

· Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS as applicable to facility billing.

Additional Domain Knowledge – Preferred

· MS-DRG,

· EOB/ERA, payment posting, contractual adjustments, underpayments, refunds and credit balances.

· 835, 999 and 277CA transactions; CMS guidance and HIPAA compliance.

· Exposure to Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health, MEDITECH or similar hospital billing systems; clearinghouses and claim scrubbers.

Training and Behavioral Skills

· Confident classroom facilitation and transparent communication with freshers and experienced associates.

· Ability to develop training material, assessments and practical case studies independently.

· Analytical problem-solving, coaching, stakeholder management and strong documentation skills.

· Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; LMS or digital simulation experience is advantageous.

Qualifications and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; healthcare, life sciences, commerce or related background preferred.

· At least 5 years of relevant US Healthcare RCM experience with substantial hands-on institutional billing exposure.

· At least 2 years in Training, Quality, SME or process coaching roles.

· Physician/professional billing experience alone is not sufficient.

· AAPC CPB, CPC or relevant AHIMA credentials are an advantage, not mandatory.

Key Performance Indicators

· Training throughput and successful deployment; assessment completion and pass rates.

· Adherence to training timelines and defined OJT readiness standards.

· Trainee productivity and quality in early production; reduction in recurring billing errors.

· Curriculum accuracy, updates and stakeholder feedback.

Preferred Candidate Profile

An experienced Hospital Billing Trainer, SME or Quality Lead with deep institutional billing expertise and the ability to build a structured, scalable academy from the ground up. The role requires practical billing knowledge—not only theoretical RCM knowledge.

Primary Objective

Establish a standardized Hospital Billing Academy that improves new-hire readiness, reduces learning time and supports consistent productivity and quality across Hospital Billing Operations.
