Process & Proposal Engineer - Water Division – WTP / STP / ETP Projects

Position Title: Process & Proposal Engineer

Department: Water Division – Design / Proposal / Tendering

Reporting To: Manager – Process & Proposal / Head – Water Division

1. Role Purpose To develop process designs, prepare technical proposals, support tendering activities, and provide techno-commercial solutions for Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), recycling systems, and related water infrastructure projects.

The role involves preparation of process calculations, PFDs, equipment sizing, technical specifications, proposal documentation, cost inputs, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams for successful bid submissions and project execution support.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Process Engineering

- Develop process design concepts for:
- Water Treatment Plants (WTP)
- Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)
- Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP)
- UF / RO / DM systems
- Tertiary treatment & recycling systems
- Prepare:
- Process calculations
- Hydraulic calculations
- Mass balance
- Design basis reports
- Process flow diagrams (PFD)
- Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID;)
- Perform equipment sizing and selection for:
- Pumps
- Blowers
- Clarifiers
- Filters
- Membrane systems
- Chemical dosing systems
- Sludge handling systems
- Review influent characteristics and recommend suitable treatment technologies.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and environmental standards.

B. Proposal & Tendering Support

- Study tender documents, specifications, and client requirements.
- Prepare technical proposals and bid documents.
- Coordinate with estimation, civil, mechanical, electrical,



and procurement teams.
- Prepare technical compliance statements and deviations.
- Support preparation of:
- BOQ
- Technical datasheets
- Equipment lists
- Process notes
- Scope matrix
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and client discussions.
- Support techno-commercial evaluations.

C. Design Coordination

- Coordinate with detailed engineering teams during project execution.
- Provide process inputs for:
- Civil layouts
- Mechanical systems
- Piping layouts
- Electrical & instrumentation systems
- Review vendor drawings and technical submissions.
- Assist commissioning team during startup and performance trials.

D. Documentation & Technical Support

- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation.
- Support preparation of:
- O&M; manuals
- SOPs
- Commissioning procedures
- Technical presentations
- Maintain standard design templates and process libraries.

4. Educational Qualification

- B. E / B. Tech in:
- Chemical Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Civil Engineering (Environmental specialization preferred)




- Biotechnology / Process Engineering (preferred for wastewater domain)

Preferred:
- M. Tech / PG specialization in Environmental Engineering or Water Resources

5. Experience

Junior Level

- 2–5 years in process design/proposal engineering for water projects

Mid-Level

- 5–10 years in WTP/STP/ETP proposal and process engineering

Senior Level

- 10+ years in EPC water infrastructure/process leadership

6. Technical Skills

- Water & wastewater treatment process knowledge
- Process calculations & hydraulic design
- Equipment sizing & selection
