Job Description

- The Scientific Officer performs his duties diligently and methodically to analyse specimens allotted to him / her in Microbiology and Molecular lab. These specimens are analysed as per procedure for the test as per standard operating procedure.

- Check the specimens received with the Test Requisition Form and give the same for Data Entry & Barcode Generation and generate worksheets for tests.

- Control of pre-analytical, analytical and post- analytical variables in performance of tests





- Scientific Officer is to perform those functions, which require subjective judgement to directly achieve analytical results, under supervision of the Consultant.

- Prepare sample for outsource tests.

- The Scientific Officer must receive approval of the Consultant, Technical supervisor in making decisions in assessing calibration, control and acceptability of analytical runs for all laboratory data.

- The Scientific Officer must observe all laboratory safety precautions in the handling of clinical specimens and running of tests.

- The Scientific Officer must bring to the notice of his/her section supervisor any abnormal findings/test conditions required for specific attention of the supervisor.
