Job Title: Patient Counsellor

Qualification:

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Psychology.

Experience:

- Minimum 1 year of experience in counselling or a related healthcare field preferred.
- Hospital experience will be an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities:

- Counsel patients regarding various eye conditions, treatment options and available eye care services.
- Explain the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.
- Provide emotional support to patients who are anxious or fearful about eye surgeries and procedures.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative counselling in coordination with doctors and nursing staff.
- Counsel patients regarding cataract surgery, retinal procedures, glaucoma treatment and other ophthalmic surgeries.
- Explain the importance of regular follow-ups and adherence to prescribed treatment.
- Guide patients regarding treatment procedures, surgery packages and hospital services.




- Coordinate with doctors, optometrists, nurses and other departments to ensure smooth patient care.
- Address patient queries and concerns with patience and empathy.
- Maintain proper patient counselling records and follow-up details.
- Handle patient concerns and complaints professionally.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and qualified ethics.

Required Skills:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good counselling and listening abilities.
- Ability to explain medical information in simple language.
- Empathy, patience and a compassionate attitude.
- Good patient-handling and coordination skills.
