Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the operating room with required surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.

- Verify patient identity, surgical procedure, and consent forms before surgery.

- Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations.

- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.

- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during surgical procedures.

- Handle and account for surgical instruments, sponges, and equipment.

- Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care and education.

- Respond promptly to emergencies and complications during surgery.

- Document patient care, procedures, and outcomes accurately.

- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste and compliance with hospital policies.

Educational Requirements

- Diploma, B.Sc. Nursing, or General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).

- Valid nursing registration/licensure as required by local regulations.

- Certification or training in perioperative/operating room nursing is an advantage.
